According to a recent survey by Brides.com couples are looking for exotic honeymoon destinations.
"Traditionally people go to the beach for their honeymoon... but now people are
trying to do something a bit different," says Theresa DiMasi,
editor in chief of brides.com,"and eco-tourism is becoming more and
more popular."
What does that mean? It means that exotic places like Costa Rica and Belize are "up and coming" honeymoon destinations.
Costa
Rica is perfect for the active couple. With well known adventures like zip line tours and jungle excursions you can see why....not to mention the incredible surfing you can do.
Belize has all of that too plus something else...Mayan ruins.

Why a honeymoon registry?
Have you been registering for gifts and wish that your guests would just
give you money to use towards your honeymoon? Well guess what? In a
way you can get them to give you money for your honeymoon by registering
for it at www.thehoneymoon.com .
By creating a honeymoon registry, engaged couples have a place to direct wedding guests who ask "What kind of gift would you like?" A honeymoon registry allows you the chance to select when and where you want to honeymoon and enables your wedding guests to buy a travel experience as a gift rather than a toaster or dish set.
Many couples getting married now a days are older, well established and already merging two apartments or homes. The last thing you need is yet another toaster. Signing up for a honeymoon registry could ensure you get what you really want.
A honeymoon registry generally works by allowing a couple to select elements of their honeymoon (airfare, hotel nights, meals, tours, sports, spa treatments, admissions, spending cash) that friends and family may buy for you in increments as wedding gifts.
Many travel agencies also provide travel registry services.
As with anything else, you need to be a smart consumer when choosing a honeymoon bridal registry. The last thing that you want is to have the value of your gifts eroded by a high "service fee" that can reduce your take by as much as 15 percent. That means before your honeymoon, you typically receive a check for the total gift cash contributions minus the company's percentage, which could represent a considerable loss to you.
Here are some questions to ask when choosing a honeymoon bridal registry:
So if registering for a honeymoon sounds like a fab idea to you then go to www.thehoneymoon.com and register for the honeymoon of your dreams.

Wedding and honeymoon planning in full swing
It didn't take long until the holidays gave way to the full court press that newly minted engaged couples make shortly after that certain question gets popped. After twelve years, this has not changed. Research on dresses, churches, reception halls and, yes, honeymoon destinations is reaching a crescendo. It will continue at this frenetic pace through Valentines Day and begin to taper off slightly through the spring as engagements give way to actual weddings. Until then sites that help couples with all their big day needs will be the beneficiaries of lots of questions and lots of traffic. Happy wedding season!

Honeymoons and Destination Weddings Are A Hot Topic
The engagement season has officially begun as we transition from Thanksgiving into the mad December holiday rush. The weeks leading into February and Valentine's Day comprise some 40% of all engagements. For couples who've gotten engaged it means the beginning of lots of research and the start to actual planning. Yes it can be stressful at times, but have fun with it too. Don't let self-imposed stress be the downfall of your engagement period, however long it is.

What's new in the world of honeymoons?
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries honeymoon: I tried to ignore it as best I could and even refrained from writing about it, but it seems any story with the name Kardashian in it just won't die. Sad really, because there isn't really anything there except a perfect illustration of one of the many things that are wrong in this country. Yes, this blog is generally about helpful honeymoon information and advice, but sometimes it's necessary to go off on a tangent. Ok, maybe not necessary, but it's at least compelling. The royal honeymoon had some elements to it that were similar, but William and Kate weren't prostituting out every last vestige of privacy for a price; if they were I am certain the proceeds would have gone to charity.
It's sad that people don't have enough stuff going on in their own lives that they have to live vicariously through made-for-cable-reality-tv-stars. Is that everyone, no, of course not. But it's far too many and it's teaching our kids the wrong stuff. If you want to know why the divide between the "haves" and the "have nots" is growing, it is NOT tax policy. The bigger reason is that the "haves" aren't watching this crap - they're either working or spending productive time with their families and teaching their kids to create a better life for themselves rather than try to do it vicariously through someone else.

Need help planning your honeymoon?
It's amazing to me that anyone in the throes of planning a wedding would want to spend time doing all the busy work that goes into planning a honeymoon. Of course, a destination wedding is another story completely and should never be tackled without professional help. The honeymoon, however, still involves plenty of work and details that should just be left to a professional. Our recommendation is to find a honeymoon specialist travel agent and let her take care of the details once you decided on a honeymoon destination.
