Things to do on a Maui Honeymoon

It's official!  Maui, Hawaii made U.S. News 17 Top Honeymoon Destinations list for 2013.  With newlyweds deep love for everything tropical and relaxing, it's no wonder that Maui made the list.  But once you're in Maui, what is there to do other than sit on the beach (as if that wasn't enough).

Below you will find a list of things to do on a Maui honeymoon:

#1: The Road to Hana - If beautiful scenery and a relaxing drive seems fun then taking a drive on the road to Hana is a must.  Overlooking some of the worlds most amazing beaches and rainforests makes this entire day trip incomparable to any other.

#2: The Red Sand Beach in Kaihalulu - Yes, red sand.  The sand is made up of eroded volcanic cinder and is truly breathtaking.  Don't forget to back good shoes though because it's a 10 minute walk down a steep, slippery trail.

#3: Eat Mahi Mahi Burgers - If you love white fish then you'll love these burgers. They're served everywhere but one of the best spots to get one is at the Pa'ia Fish Market.

#4: Molokini Snorkel Tour - Molokini is a volcanic crater located about two miles from South Maui.  Molokini is an amazing snorkel spot but only those who have permits are able to take you.  No worries, there are several, local guides with permits.  If you want to see a plethora of beautiful marine life then we highly recommend a snorkel tour.

#5:  Paddle board - Paddle boarding is one of the sports perfect for someone who wants to surf but can't stand up long on their own.  Using a paddle will help!  Don't worry, it won't look like you can't surf because paddle boarding is all the rave right now in Maui.  Many local, on beach shops rent paddle boards along with lessons.  It's a great day on the water and fun adventure.

Choosing Your Honeymoon Destination

In many cases the honeymoon is as important as the wedding itself. It is a chance for you and your partner to celebrate your marriage and enjoy spending time together as a married couple. The destination you choose can make all the difference in creating the perfect honeymoon.

That doesn't mean that you have to travel half way across the world to some exotic location, it’s about what you enjoy. If you and your partner enjoy hiking up mountains or spending your days exploring different cultures and your evenings enjoying nice food then that’s what you should do. Why should you spend your honeymoon somewhere bored out of your mind because it fits with other people norm of a romantic honeymoon location? Paris by moonlight isn't everyone’s cup of tea; perhaps you would rather be taking a walk on the wild side on safari in Africa or living the high-life in Vegas. Maybe there is somewhere meaningful to you as a couple, the first place you met or your first holiday together that would be the perfect place for your honeymoon. Whether you know what you want or are still in search of inspiration The Honeymoon has all the information you need to know when it comes to planning the perfect honey moon.

Himalayan Honeymoon

Are you looking for an adventurous honeymoon that is like nothing else? Consider a honeymoon in the Himalayas.

To get to the Himalayas, you can fly into Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. There, you can experience the region's rich culture, amazing food, and luxury hotels.

The more adventurous couples can opt for a honeymoon of mountain climbing. The Himalayas include some of the world's tallest peaks, including the highest, Mount Everest.

If you aren't up for scaling Everest, you can also take an Everest flight. This allows you to experience the amazing mountain from the air, with all its breathtaking scenery.

The Himalayas are more than just Everest, though. The region is also home to a number of stunning national parks, historical sites, luxury resorts, and hidden treasures. Cities like Pokhara offer romantic settings ideal for any honeymoon.
